Authentic Hope: Center for Peace and Empowerment is a nonprofit counseling center that works with adults, teens, children, and young adults and supports clients and their families who struggle with grief, anxiety, and trauma recovery. We strive to empower not only our clients, but also our community by offering one on one counseling as well as community outreach programs. Our goal is to increase access to mental health services for families and youth.

We are located in downtown Corvallis in close proximity to Oregon State University. We offer a friendly, collaborative work environment, full administrative support, flexible scheduling, telehealth options, paid time off, and a four day work week (with the option to work more.)

We have submitted our 501(c)(3) and once it has been approved, we will be applying as a site for the National Health Service Corp loan forgiveness program.

Licensed or Masters Level Therapist Position

Our ideal candidate would be someone who is passionate about mental health care as well as serving the community and empowering people to become peace builders in their own lives. Preference given to therapists trained in EMDR and/or play therapy or a willingness to be trained in these techniques.

Position Description:

 

Full or part time available. Licensed Therapist or Supervised Therapist positions available.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Assess and provide best practice treatment for adults, teens, and children with mental health concerns

  • Conduct individual counseling sessions with scheduled clients using professional counseling standards in accordance with individual treatment plans

  • Document treatment plans, counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions according to professional clinical social worker standards

  • Professional communication with clients, co-workers, and community members

  • Follow legal, ethical, and professional obligations of your respective Oregon governing board

  • Attend meetings and trainings as scheduled

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy

  • Licensed in the State of Oregon or registered and under the supervision of a Licensed Counseling Professional

  • Trained or willing to be trained in trauma informed care

  • Able to work with adults and teens, preference given to those able to work with children

  • Training in CBT and mindfulness is preferred

  • Extra consideration/compensation given to candidates who are licensed and willing to oversee clinical supervision

 

Compensation and Benefits:

 

Salary: $30 - $45 per hour based on education and experience

Expected Hours: 32 hours per week
